Hi...is this an event with stationary bikes...or do we need our bike/trainer?
Yes, this event is spin bikes at the Gold's Gym and there won't be room for trainers/bikes.
I hear there are still some spots left for this...
Rachel, you should sign up!!!
If you are new to the club, this would be an awesome way to get out and meet some of DC Tri's finest... or, if you just want a good butt kicking, I know these three instructors will definitely bring it.
I'm looking forward to it myself :)
Tho I'm starting to wonder if everyone involved in this event has a stage name, or nomme d'sporte. jen Knickerbocker? Really? hillary Peabody, like the Institute. Rachel Magnus, as in Rachel the Great. ron Benedict, like the saint. courtney Fulton, like the steamboat. (Will fast folk with common names, like James Wilson or Phil Schmidt or Laurel Brown, be barred?) May have to change my rather mundane moniker before attending...
Cant wait to see you all on Sunday!
You guys r nuts
I'm in, but might need to switch the 2 hours I signed up for from 12-2 to 1-3. Hoping that's not a problem.
We are actually all sold out except for one three hour block. There might be one extra bike from 2-3 b/c we left one slot open in case something comes up.
So excited about this tough block of training! The empowering instructors will make us put those bikes into non-stop action! We’ll feel our limits for sure. So glad we will have plenty of enerygy drinks, bars and treats to keep us alive and a superb cheering crowd! This is going to be a great sufferfest! Let’s crush it!
Will someone promise to pick me up off the floor once it's over?
I'm wearing my RoadID, just in case.
The three different spin instructors made for three very different and interesting hours of riding.
The singing and dancing that accompanied the music ranged from sterling to, well, to funny.
Thanks to all the vols and drinks and goo to keep us going.
What an awesome time was had yesterday. Since I wasn't riding I got to see the sweat, pain, tears, and the laughter. Riders, instructors and volunteers rocked it, and hope we get to do it again.
On a good note- Simon did not have to utilize his Road ID during the sessions he did.
...only because I ended up near the door and Hillary opened it for additional oxygen. Folks in the back had to endure 'the sauna' as Anna mentioned. Great to see you all. First class organization and truly motivational. As Casey said, this was the easiest spin session because the fun made it go by fast. See you guys in August or so...:)
The next spinathon should be something a little different:
I can totally see Mark Z rocking that!
Oh yeah!!!! Play some Eminem and watch me get all hood with my moves.
RON- Gonna need a spin bike at the next Conte's session, cause your gonna get SERVED!!!!
Love the video! Great idea. We can definitely add those Zumba moves and Cha, Cha, Cha to the next Spinathon. Mark and Ron can definitely put a great performance!
And Courtney put on quite a singing performance. Maybe she could form a band with that other dct singer, Abby Sanford, and with Rapper Ron. All they'd need is a name, tho I think there was already a group called "The Spinners."
