Another triathlon season is quickly drawing to a close, I would like to invite you to become part of a premiere Marathon Training Program. I will be coaching a Fall/Winter training program out of the Georgetown Running Company, see below for details, the group is limited to the first 100 participants, please R.S.V.P to firstname.lastname@example.org. If the thought of running mile after mile is intimidating– worry no more!! Our beginner program follows a run-walk method where you have only to concentrate on your next 4-6 minute run interval (different groups have different intervals) followed by a 1-minute walk break. We offer several different pace groups for people of every ability and speed and do our best to customize the training schedule to meet the team’s needs.
The GRC Marathon training program is designed to train our runners for the 2010 National Marathon and Half Marathon (March 2010). This growing race now attracts runners from all over the US. What makes the National Marathon so unique is the unmatched scenery along the running course. Ask any veteran runner and they’ll agree… The beauty of this course is unmatched in marathon running – plus, you can do it in front of all your family & friends!!
While we encourage our runners to enjoy the National Marathon race with their fellow team members, runners can also use our marathon training program to help them prepare for the Disney Marathon , Chevron Houston Marathon, ING Miami Marathon, and Boston Marathon.

Marathon Training Program
Train for the National Marathon on March 20th, 2010. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced runner going for Personal Best., this program is for you. . You will be in the best shape of your life by the end of the program and not even know it.
You can run a marathon within six months!
Boston Qualifying Program
The goal of this program is to take the intermediate/advanced runner to a new level of running fitness! Led by Anthony Lee, this group will work on taking it to the next level, without injury while increasing your times.
*The majority of our Saturday long runs aim to finish by 9am allowing time for runners to get back to their families bright and early. As the distances increase throughout the training program, most runs will start as early as 6 or 6:30 am.”

One integral part of training for the Marathon is the LONG RUN!! This is done each Saturday morning with our training team. The runs will be lead by veteran runners that will help you succeed. Running is hard enough – doing long runs alone can often be dull and can last forever. You will be amazed how quickly the time and the miles go by when you train with a team. The early morning energy is contagious and the friendships you develop will be well worth the early weekend wake up!!!
During select weekend runs, we will be holding clinics that will cover topics from running form/techniques, nutrition, stretching and footwear. You will have the opporotunity to have the knowledge you need to have a great marathon experience and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
While the long runs help develop confidence to finish the marathon, it is the weekly running (recommended 3 to 4x per week) and cross-training that will take you to another level of health and fitness. In addition to the weekly Saturday long runs, Georgetown Running Company offers mid-week runs to help keep your training on schedule. All runners are welcome to join us every Wed at 6:30pm. We meet at GRC and will run according to the schedule up to 6 or 7miles. Later on in the program, we will be meeting at the track to do some more speed specific workouts.
Occasionally, other runs will start at other locations in the DC/NOVA area including Great Falls, Haines Point, The Mall, and Rock Creek park.
* Program enrollment does NOT include registration to the 2010 National Marathon/Half Marathon, or goal Marathon. We recommend registering as early as possible as registration fees increase as the race approaches.
National Marathon Program (Includes all other Marathons)
Program includes a 24-week schedule that begins Wed, October 7 at 6:30pm with a 30 minute run/walk, or group run.
Boston Marathon Program
Program includes a 24-week schedule that begins Wed, November 4th at 6:30pm with a 45 minute run.

Over the past few years, Marathon training program has grown tremendously!! Be sure to register in advance to guarantee a spot in the program before it reaches its capacity.(100 People)
