You all can spot me from my aero helmet, the one in my avatar picture. I'll be wearing it at the race... er, wait, this is a short race. So no need to wear the aero helmet. And it's not even a bike race. Hmm, OK, scratch that. On second thought, no aero helmet. LOL
Actually, I'll wear a DC Tri Club shirt, if I remember tonight. Don't think I can stay too long afterward. I'll go to the post-race party and see if I win the bike.
(I already won a bike last year, or at least a $400 gift certificate. I bought a mountain bike with the award. Nice secondary ride and change of pace from the tri bike.)
Dude, I totally think you should sport the aero helmet for the race. No one would miss you. Might even get on the evening news! Or at least sport the navy blue Halo headband that you can see in your avatar if you look really closely.
Aero is aero. The laws of physics doesn't change if you are on the bike, on foot, or in the water. x2 on wearing it on the run. x3 if you can wear it on the swim. x4 if you can fit your swim cap over it. You'll be a legend.
Or maybe a wetsuit. That could be kind of hot though. It's in the 80s today.
If I run a 5K/10K around Halloween this year, maybe I actually will wear a bike helmet at the race. I joked once about wearing an aero helmet on a stationary bike at the gym. I decided not to when I figured out that I would probably get escorted out by guys in white coats if I did that. So I still don't know if aero helmets help during stationary bike rides.
