Swim lessons
POSTED: 3/30/11 2:21 PM

Hi all -

Like many people, I feel like my swimming sucks. But I am really learning that I really really suck at even the basics of swimming. Breathing, for one thing. Is there an affordable place to get swimming lessons that's also metro accessible?

As much as I would love to get lessons from Sarah Thorpe or private lessons - I spent most of my triatholon budget on getting a road bike. :(

I took lessons with this group last year and it was great.

They have another session starting this sunday, 5 weeks for $115 I think. It's at the Lab School in G'town so not totally metro accessible but the sessions are Sunday mornings so you can ride your new bike up there :)

Let me know if you have any questions about the program. If that doesn't work for you you may want to try the practices at Catholic, I'm sure there will be people there that can help you out with your stroke.

Good Luck!

Definitely come to CUA on Mon/Wed evenings!

You can learn a lot about swimming by swimming with a group. I think chlorine promotes osmosis.
