Smelly bike shoes
POSTED: 3/30/11 3:09 PM

Question for the masses. I ride barefoot. After one season, my latest pair of shoes (Specialized Trivent) smell awful! It's to the point that when I'm riding the trainer indoors, I just about knock myself out from the smell.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell without trashing the shoe?

Ha - Funny you're still having this issue. Try putting some baking soda in them or freezing them overnight. If that doesn't work, you might want to buy new insoles at the bike shop.

Once shoes have gone over like that, you can't get them back. No amount of washing is going to work.

Just throw them in the back seat of your neighbor's car and buy new shoes and a few pairs of socks.

Brad.
