The Board is interested in your input for DC Tri Gear for the upcoming 2011 season. We'd love to got your feedback on fit, style, options, and prices of the current offerings and ideas for new gear.
Of course, we can't offer everything, and different people are going to like (and dislike) different things, so understandably there is no way to please everyone. But, the goal is to try to get the best possible deals and have a nice selection of items, and we'd love to get some thoughts from the fabulous athletes who actually wear the stuff!
Please reply to this thread or email email@example.com if you want to keep your comments private.
Thank you for your ideas!
Tall sizes - especially for the tri tops. I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks for a couple extra inches in length!
I second the tall sizes, if possible! - I'm 6'2" and the Men's Large tri top is like a halter top :)
If we stick with CS:
Better Reds AND
Tighter and more revealing elite suits
Although Andy already knows those two.
Like to Joe's comment. If proof is needed for how the revealing elite suits should look, I have the un-happy-faced jpgs.
But in all seriousness, I think all the different options available from CS are nice, but they do need to improve the saturation of the reds and even the blues. They look kind of washed out.
I agree on the color quality of the CS material - I also prefer the Hincapie/Sugoi materials, realizing that their logistics were difficult.
The gear shop now offers Headsweats DC Tri hats and visors. Great as stocking stuffers!
dude! why didnt you say so?!
I was new last year and bought the CS stuff. It appeared to me that the older stuff other members already had looked like better quality and the colors were more vibrant. I think I would have been faster with brighter colors. Just saying.
I don't know if you can get them custom made, but I like the Cool Max Buff type head bands.
I recommend longer tri tops too, I am 6'0, and I feel like a 13 year old girl with my belly showing. With a medium pair of tri shorts that fit perfectly I was surprised at how short the large tri top was.
Speaking of, I only used it once at Nation's, so if anyone is interested in buying it let me know.
Awesome feedback on the race gear, everyone. Keep it coming.
Question: would you be interested in other gear, like t-shirts, singlets, or long-sleeved shirts in addition to the race gear? Open up the Gear section and have a look at everything in there. You need to scrollthrough a lot to see what is offered already!
(PS: we already have headsweats visors! Check them out!)
Running shorts to go with my singlet. I've had to wear black shorts during my last marathons and I prefer another color.
I think t-shirts is a good idea.
What about a non-winter cycling cap?
+1 to running shorts, too. But they have to be rediculously short.
just my 2 shillings.
oh yes, and some pictures in the gear section would be helpful.
All in all, the selection of items is really great!
Is it just me but it seems like there are an aweful lot of dudes on this forum with profile pictures without their shirts on and not enough women doing the same.
Perhaps the thing that we should get out of this is that DCTri is doing a very poor job of having males specific clothing available for its male athletes. When I told the prior administration that we needed man-ziers for the men in the group, they just laughed ... but who's laughing now?
And the man-kini?
The DCTri (made in usa) thong isn't as unisex as one would think.
(actually, DCTri speedos might be cool)
Shirtless at work,
Can we bring back the sports bra order? The Sugoi ones look really nice but I never remember to order one. And I hear they double as man-ziers.
