First off, welcome to everyone who has signed up for the 2012 New Triathlete Program. We had a mad rush yesterday for signup and are down to the last few spots in the program. So if you are on the fence still (and reading this post), sign up soon!
While we finalize the NTP program page (which is where you will have access to upcoming events, handouts, training plans, newsletters, and the calendar), I just want to give quick details for the upcoming NTP Orientation Meeting (Tri 101) clinic that is this coming Saturday.
Clinic: NTP Orientation Meeting (Tri 101)
Date: Saturday, January 28th
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm (noon)
Location: MLK Library in downtown DC The library is Metro accessible via Metro Center or Gallery Place/Chinatown. And as everyone knows, Metro is doing heavy maintenance to tracks on the weekend, so please check the rail delay schedules to plan accordingly.
Details: This clinic will give an overview of the New Triathlete Program and what you can expect from the program. We will talk about the 4 Pillars of Triathlon, heart-rate based training, the clinic schedule, the NTP forum page and the NTP web page, and about the race itself. Organizers from WSEM (they put on the Washington DC Triathlon and Nation's Triathlon) will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The NTP web page will be active by this weekend and your first newsletter should arrive later this week.
2012 NTP Co-Leader
Will there be another orientation session option? Or is it possible to get all of the information from co-leaders some other time (perhaps at another NTP event)? I didn't know about the first one and tomorrow I would be able to make it only for about 30 minutes.
There will be only one orientation clinic, but the powerpoint presentation and handout will be posted on the "NTP only webpage" that will be available starting tomorrow at the clinic.
But we are always available to ask questions, so if you have a question about something in the handouts or presentation, please do not hesitate to ask. Either at the next clinic or on the forum or directly to us via email.

Clear and informative session at MLK library, thank you, speakers.
