Liquidating your inventory and losing your lease means you are going out of business plain and simple...If it was as simple as finding a new location then you wouldn't liquidate your inventory. If you can't financially manage the three leases it means you are in financial hardship (read negative cashflow) and your business model/plan has failed and it is impossible to salvage.

As terrible as their customer service was and as "thin" as their inventory was (I mean what bike shop doesn't carry TUBES!) it was inevitable that the end of the road was coming. It just deteriorated exponentially after Travis left and then the two Chris'...

Interesting comments on this blog about the closure...

c'mon Cap Hill Bikes helped out DC Tri out a lot in its infancy. Right? Didn't they hook up the Extreme 4 RAAM team? I'm not saying that their service or selection were tops. But, give them a break.

What about Arrow Cycles moving to Cap Hill?

Good riddance I say, and I gave them many, many, many chances. It's like trying to still be friends with an ex that cheated on you over and over, glad they're out of the picture. SE does need a new bike shop though.
