Ashley Halsey, the transportation reporter for the W. Post, was in a WWII-era plane that flipped upon landing at Reagan National Airport on Tue. morning. Several vintage planes were at the airport to celebrate the opening of the 3D film "Legends of Flight" at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
Fortunately neither Halsey nor the pilot were injured. The runway was closed for 90 minutes until crews could remove the damaged plane.
Halsey is an avid cyclist and triathlete as well. He broke his hip in a bike crash a few years ago. And two years ago, he injured his spine in another crash that almost left him paralyzed.
Here's hoping that he doesn't get into any further scrapes or crashes, whether on the bike or in a plane.
