How far is Burlington from a major airport? I'd imagine at least 1.5 hours from Boston.

Did anyone go to Tuscaloosa in 2009?

It is 4 hours from Boston, but Burlington has an airport that you can actually fly into for very reasonable fees from DC, especially during the summer months (airtran runs a seasonal flight).

We went to Burlington a couple of summers ago. Flew direct for a very reasonable rate and I think it was somewhere around an hour long flight. How long was that flight to Tuscaloosa?

Burlington's a great college town right on Lake Champlain and very near the Adirondacks. My guess is you'll go there and then wish you had a couple of extra days. I've spent nearly half of my life living in small 'college' towns and after going to Burlington I was ready to talk Katie into moving there.

Not that I'm going to qualify for elite nationals but I think we should be quite happy that this race is so convenient to the mid-Atlantic. It's great that the East Coast tri scene is finally getting noticed and rewarded by the nat'l governing bodies.
