I don't know about you all, but 32 days and a wake up!!!! Man I am getting more and more excited about this. All the reservations have been made, the training is starting to peak, and the clock is ticking down to GAME TIME!!!! Nothing really left to do but maintain that which we have worked our butts off to build. Just remember to race the race you know you are capable of racing, and adjust on the fly. There are things we want to achieve, but ultimately it just about crossing the finish line, no matter what the clock says.
Let's get a rool call of who is in. I just want to know which DC Tri Brothers and Sisters I am joining on the Ultimate Endurance atventure.
In! First IM. Just finished my last HIM tune up before the race, another long run and ride this weekend, and then it's time to peak.
Goal is to finish, but seeing the sun finish setting after a marathon would be nice (however unlikely).
Staying at the Summit.
Oh, and I'm driving down, so I'd be happy to take any CO2, lubricants, or other TSA prohibited items for anyone.
I am doing it (will be IM #10), but the best part is I am doing it with my two sons and my son-in-law. The race will be fantastic -- they always are -- but the hugs afterwards will be something special. Best of luck to everyone racing. Finish with a smile.
I'll be down there cheering everyone on. And Ryan, after yesterday's performance, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to watch the sunset after you finish.
I will be there - body marking to start (woo hoo, every girl's dream job), then cheering like crazy (have cow bell, will travel). All before getting in line Sunday morning to sign my 2010 away.
I think Tuan is still hoping to race (send good karma his way). Cat Goldman is also racing.
Good Luck Everyone - I can't even entertaim the IM Training Meeting - my family would have me committed at St. E's - if the are still in business - if not they would petition it to reopen just for me! Maybe someday though - I can wear them down...
Ryan - is that you - Kimberly's Ryan - the Ryan of swim team balloon a thon - Good luck to you and all DC tri-ers!
What day are you deiving down there??? I am driving also. Maybe we can roll out together, we can take turn taking the pull at 2 hour intervals....lol
Down to 16 days and a wake up!
We're leaving early Wednesday morning (gotta get used to that 4am wake up). If that works for you, I'm all about starting a DC Tri paceline to Panama City Beach. Any other takers for a DC Tri paceline? It'll be a no drop ride.
(Yes, Kimberly's Ryan... one thing about IM training, it increases your lung capacity so you can blow up lots of balloons to make swim practice interesting... pop a balloon, discover your next set)
Here are the list of DCTri folks that I know who are coming down to FL for a little suntan action. Feel free to add to the list.

Mark ... you and I may be on the same isle on the bike rack. Of course, you will be at mile 90 by the time I get out of the water :) ... but I WILL GET OUT OF THE WATER !!!!
Hey Tuan.. I will be looking for you out there.
Grab Tuan's wheel on the way out for the bike and take it with me.
I will be leaving the 3rd for Panama City. Here is what I plan to do. Here is my plans:
05 Nov 09
- Morning swim, done by 10:30, because I have to go pick up Angie and Kailyn at 1:30 at the airport.
- Then later on that evening we can all meet up for dinner or something.
06 Nov 09
- Around 10am Driving to the place where we turn our bikes in and going for a little ride that morning. The bike will be a stroll, just making sure everything is working and ready to go. Gonna goto the entrance of the park and back which is about 6 miles at the most. It's the beginning of the run course.
- After the ride I am going to go and turn in my bike and gear bags inn. Which immediately after gonna take a 5-10 min run to get the legs loosened.
- Again we can meet for dinner.... total carb load
07 Nov 09
- Time for us to do what we trained so hard and long for.
- That night think a bunch of us that are down there from DC Tri are going to get together and celebrate
08 Nov 09
- Sit by the beach, and revel in the great journey which I embarked on, hopefully with an Ironman Finisher shirt on.
give me a call about leaving 703-338-6777
Before I forget, I want to wish good luck to everyone competing, especially the first timers! I'll be tracking everyone online! Enjoy the ride!
