Ugh...yes, the time is here. Timberman is just 6 sleeps away. Somehow the summer flew by and this race has totally snuck up on me, but I'm ready to set the bar really low (in hopes of great redemption in Austin in Oct). Besides, your first attempt at any new distance is always a PR, right? Bring it on, Timberman Ironman 70.3!! The Wang Chiang is IN!!
I've got the DC Tri Club tent (thanks, Joe!) and will have it set up in the team tailgating area. See y'all up in NH!!
Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great. :)
And you'll be half an Ironman!
I will see you there! Getting ready for the false flat! ughhh!
In! And it's just 4 night shifts away for me! Thankfully my lovely chauffeurs have planned a sleeping area in the back of their vehicle for me on the way up...yes I have earplugs :)
Speaking of flats, I am now all too familiar with my new wheelset after not one, but 2 flats (yesterday at NE & again today), so hopefully they don't come in 3's...
See you all up there. It should be a lot of fun!
I'm in! :-O
Have to admire the smart strategy of some of the Timber Triathletes: lower expectations, then crush the course. :)
Best luck to HIPsters and non-HIPsters alike! Gorgeous venue and fun times by all accounts.
Will be following the race live from the i-Phone on the Reston Century course through athlete tracker:
In! Wait, there's hills in New Hampshire??? I don't know if I can handle that without Royalty screaming Vietnamese obscenities in my ear and Becky pointing out every ferret, err, deer, along the way ... Are folks gathering for the carbo load fest on Saturday?
Free carb fest? Of course we'll be there!
Ed - you better set aside all of Sunday morning and a good chunk of the early afternoon if you're tracking me!
In for my first 70.3!
Somehow, this is also the first race of the year that I am not doing as part of a relay... which means at some point in the next three days I am going to have to practice taking off my wetsuit without help.
Will be visualizing the finish-line clam bake for ::cough:: hours.
See you in the DC Tri caravan!
One thing I learned in the military: never pass up a free meal!!
Julia, if my memory serves me correctly :), there are wetsuit strippers at Timberman...so you don't even have to worry about that. Good luck up there. It is a great race!
In as well. See you up there at the DC Tri tent. Seriously, Keith Jordan, the race director, is the best in the business.
Good luck everyone! You will have a blast....this is a fantastic race! Great venue, awesome spectator support....and of course the post-race lobster feast!
Kick some butt DC Tri. I hope everyone has a great race. Will follow you on my Iphone while I am laying on the beach.. :p
In as well. I will be looking for the DC Tri tent!! Let's rock those climbs!
