recommendation for foot/ankle doc?

Curious if anyone strongly recommends an MD in the area with a specialty in foot and ankle and also a special focus on returning runners to full ability post-fracture.

A second (or in my case, third or fourth) opinion can't hurt.

He does knees, shoulder & elbows - but it is a larger practice and I am sure one of the other docs does feet & ankles.

He did my knee surgery though and he is excellent.

Would strongly recommend Dr. Lutta with Commonwealth Orthopaedics.

Specializes in ankles.

I would also strongly steer you away from the Georgtown Fook and Ankle Center. Can't remember the doctor I saw there, but he was all about doing surgery without really talking to me about what I thought and my goals. Went to Dr. Lutta for a second opinion, and he was great about listening to me and not just immediately jumping to surgery.

Shaffer took care of my foot/ankle once and he was brilliant. I am a long-time patient of Dr. Howard Glickman at 1145 19th ST., NW. 202 833-9797. I also think highly of Commonwealth Orthopedics so it sounds like you have an array of excellent people to choose from.
