**Update**
For anyone who purchased a registration through the DC Tri Shop in December, an email will be sent out by the end of this week with instructions on how to redeem your registration on the race site.
For anyone else who is still looking to register for the race, we have an updated race discount now posted:
http://dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Race.Race_Discounts
This $15 discount secures the $195 registration rate for members of the DC Triathlon Club until February 15, 2012. Please be sure to follow the instructions provided in order to ensure you receive the free bike shipping deal.

I'd love to go out & cheer. Interested in possible group flight discount.
I'm working on travel deals. Please help me by answering this informal poll. No promises, but I will do my best.
1) Dates of travel
A) Thursday evening to Monday
B) Thursday evening to Sunday
C) Friday morning to Monday
D) Friday morning to Sunday (there's NO WAY I would do this!!)
2) Direct v. Layover
A) Direct flights from Dulles
B) I don't mind layovers as long as it's the cheapest flight
3) Airport
A) Direct flights from Dulles!!
B) I don't care which airport we leave from, as long as it's the cheapest flight, and I will find my own way there
C) I don't care which aiport we leave from, as long as it's the cheapest flight, and I hope the club will arrange something from downtown if it's Dulles or BWI
4) Hotel Type
A) I like a hotel that has a kitchen because I'm a triathlete and I need to feed myself very specifically when racing
B) I don't care what kind of hotel as long as it's the cheapest
Thank you!

The women's elite race is 3 pm on Friday. Would be great to get there on Thursday so we have time to settle in on Friday and be ready to volunteer at / watch in the afternoon race! The ITU race in DC was so exciting :-)
I'm totally game for camping out on the "epic climb" and watching how the ladies attack it!
1. A (or some variation thereof (I'll likely stay longer or go earlier to visit friends))
2. A (though I believe Southwest flies direct from BWI, which I'd prefer)
3. A or C
4. N/A (I'm staying with friends.)

Also, my parents have offered to possibly arrange homestays for one or two other well-behaved and cost-conscious triathletes, though it would likely be fairly far from the race area.

As a side bar, I've reached out to establish a connection with the San Diego Tri Club president in hopes that we might be able to work out some exchange of benefits between our clubs (i.e. access to some pool time, members who have extra space to "adopt a DC Tri member" for the weekend, etc)

Though, I might stay with my family and/or stay out there a little longer. Do you think there will be a flight only or hotel only option for those of us that want a little more flexibility or will it be a package deal or the planning process isn't there yet?

1) Any of the choices is fine with me!

2) A (as others have mentioned, group flight discounts possible?)
3) B (Pat's order)
4) B (Kitchen not essential)
Ryan's adopt-a-triathlete idea is good: DCT has done that for pros staying in DC.
SD has perfect weather: is there a camping option?
Food: We should, ahem, urge Carrie Campbell, Katie Siehndel, and anyone else who wants to make yummy baked goods for racers.
(Lotsa post-race mini-vacay options: SD Zoo, La Holla, SeaWorld, SD bay kayaking, Torrey Pines park, USS Midway, LA...)
1) B. Sunday afternoon.
2) B; max 1 connection
3) DCA. IAD. Not BWI
4) B. Good deal, not "cheap." Location over price. Five miles can be an hour in the car.
Thanks Abby, much appreciated!

To echo Andrea, we definitely need to be there for the Elite Women's race on Friday. Lindsey Jerdonek is shooting to qualify for that race, so how thrilling would it be to have a DC Tri member racing among the best pros in the world!!!
