I loved these. Are they going to be reinstated? I don't know of any decent or convenient place to swim during the cold season...

It's a bummer but the deal is that during the school year and swim season there just isn't available pool time for us.

Last year we were able to start back there in late February. I'm guessing that will be the earliest that we can go.

I miss it too.... I've lacked a lot of focus in the pool lately, that's for sure.

I go to the Takoma Park pool which is open every weekday until 9pm. And is open on Sat and Sun as well. It's isn't very busy, except water polo days.

And it is close to the metro and then you can use the track at the school next door to run.

Last year we were able to start them sometime mid-February, depending on the end of the swim season. We're doing a couple of club swim meets there in Jan and Feb and hopefully we'll be able to get the conversation started again.

It looks like we'll be able to return to CUA just after valentine's day (Feb. 14). We also have two winter swim meets scheduled at CUA on Jan. 24th and Feb. 28th at 8am. Show your hard work over the winter and strut your stuff.

Contrary to what Travis' comments, there is a chance that Coach Hugh may be at CUA with workouts to kick our tails this sping.

Next Wednesday, Feb. 24th is when we will start back up swimming at Catholic U. Practice days and time will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8pm. Practice fee will be $3.00. Workouts will be provided and I will try to post each one prior to practice. NTPers and beginning level swimmers are encouraged to practice. Once every other Wednesday, I will be available for stroke instruction and coaching. -Hugh

I would like to point out that the CUA swims are DC Tri people only, we have the pool to ourselves and do not have to share it with others (correct me if I am wrong on that). I will start working out there just for that reason alone.

Okay, my metro ride home from HH was a little longer than Steve's. The practice times are open to DC Tri Club members and the pool hours are also open to the Catholic U. students. There are rarely any CUA students there, but we are using their pool and have to open it up to them.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that we won't start up until this Wednesday, Feb. 24th. We will try to post these workouts ahead of time. -Hugh
