I am doing the Augusta 70.3 the end of September. Any advice on training, information on the course, etc.
Are there any other members doing the race?
From what I hear the swim is lighning fast, point to point, with the current. So bring your floaties and enjoy the ride!
I'm also going to go out on a limb and guess that Georgia is hot in September. Just sayin.
I'm going - along with a few others from Masters Swim. :)
Catharine - you are good to go. Augusta added to the race section. Awesome that we are going to have a great presence there this year! And looks like registration is still open...
I went last year and I'm going back for round 2 this year. It is a fast course. The swim is indeed lightning fast. There is a full race recap on my blog. Weather can potentially be hot and humid but wasn't too bad last year.
It will be great having a crew from the club down there this year!
Looking forward to it! This will be my first 70.3. Hooray for peer pressure -- I mean, team encouragement!
This is going to be sweet, and I'm like 80% I'll be able to swim by then. Also, I'm making a mix tape of all songs about Georgia for the ride down. There are a lot.
It looks like the group heading down to Augusta is growing! Don't forget to "attend" in the race section: http://www.dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Race.welcome.
Common Andrea - you know what you want to come to Augusta with us!
Well, Augusta is not in my cards but I am considering another little race up in NY in 2013 that is on your agenda :-) We will see...
