Calling all NTPers in the Adams Morgan/Mt Pleasant/Columbia Heights part of town. Who's interested in getting a regular running group together? We could meet up at the infamous Rat Park (16th & Harvard) then head to Rock Creek or elsewhere.
Time etc to be determined. I just want to get a sense of how many folks are interested.--Martha
I live at 18th and Harvard and would definetly be interested in participating in such a run. I really, really prefer to run in the early evening (after work), but could muster up a morning run...
Count me in as well. I'm in Mt. Pleasant and both mornings and evenings work for me.
Definitely too cold and dark to think about early morning runs yet. In general Wednesday evenings starting 6 or 6:30 would be good for me, but I can be flexible. We can also figure out some weekend times depending on what large group workouts are on the calendar. Let me know if Wed night would work for you and if you want to start tomorrow or next week.
Anyone who wants to join the Rat Park running group feel free at anytime. I plan to post to announce each upcoming run day/time tbd by folks who show up to the previous one.
Great! Thanks for organizing this! Wednesdays work well for me, though not this Wednesday. I can start next Wednesday (April 1). Generally, any night works for me (just not tomorrow as I have guests through the weekend).
The weather forecast for tomorrow isn't promising. Looks like we'll have to make a game time decision. Let's see how things look around 5pm. I won't be online then, so call/text my cell 703-304-0679 to see if the run is still on.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate next week.--Martha
I am in between U street corrIdor and Col Hts and would love to get with a running group, Count me in!
- Bob Kearney
Thanks for setting this up, Martha!
I live at 16th and T - so close enough, eh? Count me in too.
I could be interested in joining this...how far do you plan to run?
Too bad that we got rained out. Let's try again next week, same time same bat channel. Wednesday at 6:30. Meet at Rat Park and then we'll head down to Rock Creek.
I propose that we time our runs based on the weekly Olympic training schedule. For now that means 30-45 minutes. Of course folks can turn back or keep going whenever they'd like.
And if the storm clouds are looming again, my cell is 703-304-0679. I'll make a "final decision" at 5:45.--Martha
Is RPR on for this Wednesday so far?
No rain in the weather forecast for this Wednesday. So we're on for WED APRIL 8th at 6:30. Give a shout if you plan to come.
I will be there...Anne Marie
Bundle up and come on out for our inaugural run at 6:30 today. I'll have my cell (703-304-0679) with me if you need to call/text at the last minute.--Martha
Who's up for a run this week? Last week the weather did cooperate and Anne Marie and I had a good run on Rock Creek.
Rain is in the forecast for this Tuesday and Wednesday, but you never know. Should we tentatively schedule Wed at 6:30pm again? Or is there another day/time that would work for folks?--Martha
Wednesday works for me...Anne Marie
Anne Marie--Do you mind if we call off RPR today? It looks like we'd get rained out anyway. I have to zipcar myself tonight to clean out my desk at the office : ( At least that will make me free for HH tomorrow.
Of course, if any other RPRers are free to join you that's cool. Speaking of which, where are all of you potential RPRers???--Martha
As soon as my knee gets better, I'm totally on for the weekly run--I started doing a little jogging yesterday, but am not ready to be fully back to speed/distance yet :(
Maybe next week!
Martha--hope everything is ok at work.
Hopefully your knee and the weather will be much improved by next week.
BTW I'm having a Downturn Dinner Party on the 25th to celebrate being unemployed. Allison (and other RPRers) send me your email and I'll forward the evite.
Agreed...a little too rainy and wet for a run tonight. Hopefully next week!
Wish I could make your downturn dinner on the 25th, but I am out of town...
