For those who remember Charlie Engle's talk at a tri club happy hour at National Geographic some time ago, the film about his adventure running across the Sahara with two other endurance athletes is being shown this Thursday, March 26, at the AFI in Silver Spring at 6:30.
Tix are pricey--$35--but include a reception beforehand (starting at 6 PM), a 45 minute Q&A with the runners (I know at least Charlie will be there), a gift bag with goodies like a DVD of the film, and, I'm told, a reception after as well with free booze. Plus it benefits the charity H2O Africa, which builds wells on that continent.
I've seen the film several times and it's beautifully shot and honestly portrays the physically struggles and even in-fighting among the team. It was produced by Academy Award winner James Moll and narrated by Matt Damon, and the production values are stellar. I can't wait to see it on the big screen! Hope to see you there.

I saw this on showtime in January and it's an amazing and inspiring movie.
If you have the Showtime Extreme channel, the movie looks like it will be airing on 3/27 at 12:00pm if you want to set your DVR.
