Looking for a swim coach to work one-on-one with me Saturday mornings for about a month to perfect my technique. Any recommendations?
I'm not a licensed Master swim coach, but I've been a swimmer all my life, taught kids swim lessons in high school and coached swim workouts for the Cal Triathlon team 2011-2012. I'd definitely be able to work with you on your stroke up at the Wilson Aquatic Center, if you're interested.
Regarding Swim Coaches. I have a coworker who is looking for someone to help her get started in the pool. She seems to be a beginer. She prefers Washington Lee People. If any club members can help or you know folks?
Shannon - FYI, private lessons at any DCPR pool by non-DCPR staff is not allowed. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but the lifegaurds will kick you out if you are in non swim garb and on the bulkheads. The pools in VA are a bit more lax about private lessons.
Thanks for the update. For the most part, I prefer to be in the water with my swimmers anyways. There's only so much one can see from the deck. So maybe that would be easier to do in stealth mode ...
I'm a personal trainer with experience coaching triathletes. Last year, one of my Ironman triathletes was particularly successful in the pool. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up and working together.
Shannon, how can I contact you?
I've swu(a)m(?) with Shannon a few times and can attest that she is an excellent swimmer. Very fast and efficient. I think she could definitely help you.
Why thank you, Conor, for the vote of confidence!
Tom - you can reach me at shannonegreene at gmail dot com and we can figure out logistics.
Looking forward to working with you!
