I haven't attended this camp (yet), although I desperately want to. But this will give you an idea of the mind of extreme marathon swimmers.
Yes, we're all crazy.
I don't know what "Tuan bio" means...
When I googled extreme swimming... looks kinda cool:
-Andy Sovonick of Gaithersburg
Mike - I think the sign of an extreme swimmer is that you already knew about that camp before reading the article. That said, I think we should have all our masters swimmers read it so they appreciate how nice we are being when we *only* make them practice swimming with one goggle full of water, rather than unleashing the jellyfish.
Tuan is known in our club as the "Vertical Swimmer." We have yet to get him out to a masters session to see how vertical he gets. But his swimming skills, or lack there of, are legendary. Though, i believe grossly exaggerated because he's yet to drown in the kiddie pool.
Andy - how did you know about the Jellyfish?!?!
Love it! If he can swim a good 4K time vertically, imagine how fast he'll become when we get him horizontal!
And heck, swimming vertically, you don't need to worry about blood rushing out of your brain pan when you do T1 (isn't that what you guys call the swim-to-bike transition?)!!
