Moving to DC - Where?
POSTED: 6/14/10 4:33 PM

Hey Guys,

I'll be moving to DC in the fall and would like some suggestions as to what neighborhood/town has the best access to trails, pools, biking, etc. Any help wold be much appreciated. I am looking forward to training with you guys!

Thanks,

Steven

There have been several posts on this same topic in the past. Poke around on the full forum, probably under General Discussion, for some ideas.

My favorite bike trail for training is the W & OD which goes from about McLean VA past Leesburg. You can find the trail on line. Well maintained, straight and pretty flat.

I think you'll find good enough pools, roads, and trails just about anywhere in the metro area (okay, not aware of any decent pools in SE DC, though I've used good ones in the other 3 quadrants). If I were you, I'd choose a neighborhood that fit your price and personality, then worry about the fitness facilities later.
