Description: Learn about the sport of swimming and have your swimming-related questions answered by a member of USA Swimming's medical team for the 2009 World Swimming Championships.
The seminar is being presented by Jeremy Vail, a member of the USA Swimming Sports Medicine Science Team. Jeremy will address all four strokes and will cover topics that include:
Stroke biomechanics
Technique development
Injury prevention
Rehabilitation
Stretching
Recovery
The seminar will conclude with an extensive Q&A session and include information of interest to parents, coaches, and swimmers.
Presenter:
Jeremy Vail, MPT, OCS, MTC, ATC: An experienced physical therapist and athletic trainer, Jeremy has worked with the USA National Swimming Team since 2003. He has been on the medical staff for every World Championship since 2005 and will be providing medical support at the upcoming 2009 World Swimming Championships. Jeremy has been a club coach for more than 10 years and has provided coaching and medical support to Division I teams in both the SEC and Big East conferences. He is currently on the faculty of George Washington University lecturing in the field of sports biomechanics.
