Seagull Century 2010

Looks like there is a new option this year for Seagull Century. I'm trying to sign up and would love to ride with some DC Tri folks - is there one ride that most people choose?

The Seagull is an aweseom ride. I know last year we had a nice size of people riding it, but then again we all got seperated as we were all choosing to hit our own paces. I plan on signing up again this year.

I will be there! I'm doing the classic Assateague route, but I'm curious about the new route as well. Hopefully someone will ride that one and be able to report back.

In. Agnostic on the route. Classic Assotea route is very nice (in good weather), tho new Chinco route would be fun to tri.

Is anyone interested in going for a long bike ride this weekend (maybe Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning) in preparation for Seagull?

This would be at conversational pace, since I haven't done any riding since the Nation's Tri, and I'd like to get out there for the heck of it.

I might also try to go to that moonlight ride tomorrow nite.

Are there any wise words about lodging from folks that have done this ride before? Places you loved, those to avoid? Thanks

For Eagleman a few years ago, I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Salisbury, which worked out well. It's on a suburbia stretch of road, which is nice if you need a Panera fix, not-so-nice if you want something with more atmosphere.

Looking to sell my Seagull Century Bib
POSTED: 9/28/10 8:56 PM

Hey there--I'm looking to sell my bib for the Seagull Century. I think I paid $75, but would let it go for $55...and I could meet somebody on the red line to give it away (or there is probably still sufficient time for me to stick it in the mail)....

If there are any takers, please feel free to give me a shout.

Does anyone have an extra hotel room they are not using/planning on canceling that I could have? Thanks!

I was able to get a room at the Holiday Inn in Easton. Double beds, and have room for a roommate. Not sure of remaining availability.

Check that, now have Days Inn motel in Cambridge: methodically moving closer to Salisbury start point.

I'm in for the classic Assateague route. I have been only been on my bike only once since IM Wisconsin so it could be a long ride....but looking forward to it anyways!

If anyone is open to carpooling to Salisbury, give me a shout -- I'm happy to help out with gas/tolls.

Jeff and others,
At this point I'm planning on driving up on Saturday morning, and coming back soonest that eve. I'm taking a non-DC Tri Club friend (Laura) and so I could probably fit one or two more in the car and put 3-4 bikes on the back.

Let me know.
