I just read that Gary Fisher, founder of the self-named bike company, is in town for the bike advocacy summit. He showed up at the new Revolution Cycles City Hub in Crystal City today as the "first customer." The City Hub will rent commuter bikes, provide basic maintenance and repair needs, and sell a few bike accessories but they will not sell bikes.
He is leading a group bike ride tonight from the City Hub at 220 S. 20th St. in Crystal City at 7 pm. There is no set route but supposedly they will end up in the District (probably at one of our fine watering holes).
If you want to participate, just show up around 7 pm with your bike, helmet and headlight. I know it's not much notice but I just read about this myself.
