For our Masters Swim Program participants: please join us for one of two hour-long freestyle stroke clinics this Saturday morning at UDC.
Leading these clinics is one of our newest MSP Coaches – David Croushore (or as Cat affectionately calls him: David "Crushmore"). This guy is a beast in the water. As a college swimmer, he was a two-time All-American, and left behind some all-time school records, to boot. But that's not what makes him such a strong technique coach. En route to college swimming glory, David was named the "most improved" swimmer on the team, not once, but twice! Those school records? He also had the slowest 100 freestyle in school history to go along with them. On his journey from worst to first, he picked up more than a few tricks -- and he would love to share them with you. He also has years of swim coaching experience, including youth swimming, where teaching technique is priority #1, and is an avid triathlete with more than a few races, from sprint to 70.3, under his belt.
The first session will start at 8 a.m. and the second will start at 9 a.m. These clinics are particularly geared toward the intermediate swimmer -- someone who can make it through a masters practice, but who wants some pointers on how to improve stroke efficiency and overall swim mechanics. Sign up on the TeamUp website to reserve your spot, just as you would for a regular weekday swim practice. Each of the two one-hour clinics is capped at 20 swimmers to ensure a low coach to swimmer ratio -- so reserve your spot soon!
And if you are interested in this clinic and joining the Masters Swim Program – head on over to the Program’s Menu and click on Masters to find out how you can join in the practices, clinics, and tapings that we offer – check us out. And if you haven’t heard already, yes, we have moved over to an online punch pass system. So you are in control of when and where you swim.
If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If there are any more of these, any chance of staging a little later or on a Sunday if one is committed to the club's Sat. spin sessions in Ballston? Thanks for setting up, sounds great.
The goal is to have a clinic for our masters swimmers once a month - but the next time we are going to offering another clinic for the program will be in March with NTP, HIM, and IMP starting up and needing the pool for their programs.
But regularly check out the Master's schedule's on our clinic schedule and we will be offering different clinics to our swimmers as well.
So you ever have a stroke clinic for those of us not enrolled in the MSP?
You can definitely just buy the single session; sign up with the teamup site https://www.dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Programs.Attend_Sessions and buy the single pass for $20. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't recommend you spring for the 5 class pass. Then it's just $9/session (over 50% off!) and you could use these "punches" for any master's class, video analysis, future stroke clinic, etc. It doesn't expire for three months - plenty of time!
Look forward to seeing you at the pool,
