I'm in for the Half, 284, Corral #2. Although think it might be struck down pending my bone scan and MRI. Think my 18 years of going hard has caught up on my hip. Not looking good.
Racing the Half with optimistic hopes of running a 1:23 and qualifying for NYC.
Bib 454, Corral - 2
I am signed up for the full, but may have to beg back and do the half as onset of ITB (never had before) and knee problems have hindered my training. More important for me to be in prime condition for tri season then finishing another marathon; however, disappointing it will be. Well - the half is the most scenic in any event. Training and tapering now includes a healthy dose of Girl Scout cookies floating around my office!
Good luck everyone!
Oh - 1144 Corral - 5 -
Maybe we'll have nice weather and you'll be able to spot me in my DC Tri top. Glad to see you all at the tent.
Also- maybe my hip and knees will hold out and I can make the full - here's to luck!
Signed up for bicycle escort.
(Does that mean 12 mph for c. 2 hours 15 minutes?..)
Ed ... I didn't know that they needed a bike support. Thanks for posting. I just signed up. A bike workout and a volunteer opportunity.
3378 Corral - 7 - 9:21-9:45
i mean 6:21 pace, that's a misprint
I'll bike race you then at 12 mph.
(Maybe bring the hybrid.)
registered for the half (#213, corral 7 as well).
sadly planning a game day decision on actual attendance though given my lack of running as of late. I'm debating whether my knees are up for 13 miles...
Ed ... the kind of bike shape that I'm in these days, we may need to turn it down a notch or perhaps do a relay :)
I'm running the half. Corral - 3 - 7:46-8:15 pace
Hoping to run faster than last year which was 1: 46. I ran 1:42:03 the year before. Anyone around my pace? I'd love some company - I'll warn you though I am a talker. I always run better when I talk. Otherwise I forget to breathe!
Is there going to be a tent both days for the club? And what time will people be at the tent if there is?
Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see the sights in DC!
We don't need to bring the tent because the race director is providing DC Tri Club with a booth. It will be at the finish line festival with our name on it. The race is only on Saturday so that is the only day that the booth will be available.
Feel free to hang out there both before and after the race to meet up with other DC Tri Club racers, volunteers and spectators.
Good luck and have fun!
There were two bike escort spots remaining so me and a buddy signed up again...this will be our 3rd year as bike escorts for this race and it's always a good time! See y'all out there!
I'll be riding with your posse, Tex.
Are we in charge of a water stop? Which one?
Martha - I'd be lucky to catch your draft! Good luck to ya'
Tuan - looking forward to maybe finally meeting you. The support of royalty will definitely be inspirational.
I am definitely begging off the full and doing the 1/2. I don't want to jeopardize the glowing tri season that I have set up for myself. Plus the thought of finishing in less than 1/2 the time has its appeal.
It eill be nice to see some of the old faces. trying to come back to the club/trainign, etc.
I am in for the half. Bib #332 Corral 3. Except that I have been sick for the past 5 days and haven't been able to run or do anything. Oh this is not going to be a fun race! But looking forward to the DC Tri tent at the finish!
Well looks like I am going to skip this one. Hip is not 100%. Better to sit back and beable to race this season, then to push the issue and be laid up longer. Good Luck to everyone. I will be doing an easy bike that day to get back in the groove.
I'll be pacing some friends and serving as a moving fuel station for the half! It looks like its going to be a beautiful day! Will definitely stop by the tent and say hi... If you are out on the course volunteering/watching, look for the two chicks in the ridiculous running skirts and cheer us on! :)
