I'm in for the half! #2000, Green Boston Shamrock shirt, easy pace!
Congrats to all the runners out there early in the season after a long winter. Gorgeous weekend day, finally. (It was fun, and a lot easier, watching ya'll from a bike.)
Thanks Ed for volunteering! And to all of the other club volunteers as well!
Congrats to everyone who did the race, especially to all of you who achieved PRs. It was perfect weather for a great race and I'm glad I came out despite my lack of training.
It was a great morning! Thanks Ed for volunteering and especially for talking to me going up the hill at Dupont Circle!
Dirk De Heer, BTW, was a Flying Dutchman, finishing the half thon in fifth place in 67 minutes, and getting a write-up, with Andy Sovonick:
It should be noted that Andy Sovonick would have gone a lot faster than his 1:15:20 had he not been distracted by a certain Vietnamese on the bike who kept asking him stupid questions for quite a few miles :)
Nevertheless, the dude is a stud. He was running at a 1:15 half marathon pace while having a conversation. How freaky of an athelete is that ?
Plus we had the most people at the running club booths. We win!
