This Fri. and Sat. @ the Navy Memorial Theater. I planned to do an article about this, but alas, no time. WHO'S IN?
Here are the links for the Bike Film Festival:
Also, Gripped Films is having a movie night later this month. Should be good.
This looks awesome...checking with a friend...pretty sure I'm going to go.
No time for an article? Write it in the theater on your mobile. (Order popcorn without butter.)
I interviewed the Founding Director of the Bicycle Film Festival, Brendt Barbur last night. The movies are only on Saturday night with headliners Road to Roubaix and Where Are You Go, about the famous classics race Paris-Roubaix and the epic Tour d'Afrique, respectively. Many interesting short films about Japanese track racing, Big Bikes, urban cyclists, cyclocross, Italians, and more!
The United States Navy Memorial Theater seats 250 people. The organizer anticipates that the event will sell out. Hurry and buy tickets to the film festival here http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/89377.
Ah, you did write the article--in advance of deadline.
That's a nice building, and the Cairo to Capetown bike movie, among many others to be shown that night, sounds intriguing.
That movie about biking from Cairo to Capetown was very good. The film makers were like a modern-day Alan Lomax, making "field recordings" of the amateur musicians and athletes they met along the way. Trailer:
