We currently have 74 confirmed to race Sunday. Registration ends this Friday at midnight. http://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=10558
The weather forecast looks good for Sunday. You will want to stick around for the BBQ, food and fun that we will have going on at the neighborhood community center.
All event details are on the Club event page: https://www.dctriclub.org//index.cfm?fuseaction=interact.events&id=696
POTLUCK FOOD ASSIGNMENTS: Racers, please help out by bringing something according to your last name:
By-Du: Veggie side
He-La: Side dish (chips ok)
Mr-Ri: Vegetarian option - side dish
Rm-St: Side dish (no chips)
Su-Zy: Drinks (gatorade, juice, etc)
See you Sunday!!
I am able to help out - I already e-mailed someone who was listed as a contact in an e-mail and they said they would let me know, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I am available for anything.
Thank you Catherine! Yup, you and Misha are already on the google doc to help out with run support with room for 1 or 2 more there. Hope that's ok.
IN for Volunteering :)
This forum can also be used to answer any questions, organize carpools, etc.
For anyone wondering if this is a kid friendly event the answer is yes. There's a playground at the community center and I know at least 1 parent bringing 3 children. There's a possibility of a slip n' slide showing up too.
All registered racers will receive an email with the most up to date info Friday.
PS Thanks in advance to volunteers and racers bringing your pot-luck food to share!
I don't think I am going to do the run part. Can I bike twice?
Jason, I think so but check with our timing crew morning of.
Hi, is this the correct place to organize carpools? I'm looking for a ride and live in the Glover Park area but can be flexible on departure location. Happy to cover gas. Also, I'm a newbie and this is my first OWS, wetsuit or no? Thanks in advance!
Andie, this is a good place to organize carpools. I hope you, Debbie and others can find a ride.
No wetsuits for Sunday, sorry. The water will be too warm.
Looks like we have 86 racers so far. Reg closes Friday at midnight.
Still looking for more volunteers. See first post of this forum.
Thanks and see you Sunday!
Hi! I signed up for a volunteer slot but I need a ride - anyone leaving from the Columbia Heights area??
I signed up for timing since only 2 of the 5 positions had been filled. I don't have my own iPhone/iPad for the WebScorer app though. Feel free to reassign me if you need to.
I am new to the club and fairly new to the area. I volunteered many years in NEW YORK for several events including coaching, teaching, and sales. I figured volunteering for this event would be a great way to learn more about the club from you all. I am from Arlington VA. Is this even in Lorton? Any advise is welcomed!
@dingaka, The event is at Gunston Manor in Lorton, VA. If you are interested in volunteering, please enter your information on the google spreadsheet. We would love to have you spend the day with us!!
Lorton, VA is about 35 mins south of Arlington, with access from I-95.
It's off of Gunston Rd Way: HERE
Hope this helps!
Sorry this is late. A family emergency came up. I will not be able to volunteer.
Awesome job Adam and volunteers!
Thanks for making it a great race and continued DC Tri tradition (in a new location of course !).
And for those without the iPhone WebScoree app, looks like the results can be viewed here...
Seconding what Brady said. Nice job today Adam, Ryan and the volunteers.
This was probably the closest any of the training tri's have ever been to an actual sprint tri.
