Plan is to meet at Spelunkers, http://www.spelunkerscustard.com/, in Front Royal at 830. Park in the back and on the side street so we don't take up all their parking but there's plenty of spots. Makes for a fantastic frozen custard, shake, ice cream place reward after the ride. Panda, this is calling your name!
No matter if you're fast or slow, it's an out-and-back so no chance of getting lost or losing people for the most part.
This also allows you to customize your distance but the 2 main options are:
a) to Elkwallow wayside (~50 total, bathrooms, water, store, etc.)
b) to Thorton Gap (~62 mi total, bathrooms, water fountains)

Can we do this again next weekend? Pretty please? I have been waiting all winter for these rides but will be out of town this weekend. Have fun!
Sorry, Air Force Cycling Challenge Crystal Ride is next weekend. http://www.airforcecyclingclassic.com/index.php/crystal-city-ride
Do they still charge cyclists an entry fee into the park?
They do, however, my buddy going and I both have Shen park passes. Each is good for 4 riders, so it'll be free for 8 of us. There's 3 of us thus far; join us Andy.
I may go but will be slow...anyone looking to carpool from NoVA?
I'm riding on Saturday. 100 miles total from Front Royal. (Adam, sorry for hijacking your post)
I'd like to join; is there an open bike rack/car seat available?
I would also be interested in joining. Would need a ride though, certainly sounds like fun.
If I go I'll have an extra seat/bike rack available, leaving from Ballston. Not sure I'm going yet, have a lacrosse game tomorrow and want to see how beat up I am before committing 100%.
Looks like there are 6 of us thus far. Me, Scott, Michael, Bill, Ron and Patrick. Room for 1 more in Ron’s ride as well as 2 free park entrances. Scott and anyone else interested, shoot me an email so we can coordinate carpooling.
Weather forecast is looking pretty good!
Awesome Kim, perfect as we're leaving from Courthouse. I'll shoot you an email.
Scott, Andy, in?
I am in, sent you an email earlier today, Adam. Let me know what the car situation is looking like.
Beautiful ride, perfect weather, and a solid group of riders. Thanks for organizing Adam!
My road bike (with a compact double crankset) would probably have been the wiser choice for this ride than my tri bike (which has a standard double)... but boy those downhills were fun (I mean terrifying) on the aero's!!
