Hey Stacey. There is one training tri for each month of the summer the July one is scheduled for the 12th. So you will have one more chance before NJ.

Joe or Hugh,

Do we need to enter swim times or did I just miss that?

This is my rookie-ness showing. Should we plan to swim in tri race gear or do a change because it's not open water?

Hey Ryan...swim times never got added to the entry page so we will either send out an email blast to collect them or figure out a work around before the tri. Everyone was always bad about it before anyway. I still have no idea what ???? or "slow" equates to for a 100 m pace :-)

The swim is in a (now heated) pool so NO wetsuits and no nudity. So you want to swim in either a tri gear or a swim suit or if you dont mind soggy bike shorts you can swim in those.

We are down to 11 spots so if you want to sign up you should do so ASAP.

There are now 6 spots left. Ryan, I am probably going to send out an e-mail on Monday (if I get all of the e-mail addresses) and ask people for that information.

Figuring out a 400 time is pretty easy. Swim a timed 400 and divide by 4. -Hugh

Are there anymore sports left - the link is no longer available?
Or maybe it is just me. I just renewed my membership.

Thanks,
Sacha

Will there be a waiting list in case people drop out?

Hugh,

Just a suggestion. We should model these training events like they do for IM registrations for future DCTRi races. By that I mean if someone comes to volunteer at a DCTRi race (i.e., dual or training tri), they qualify for one of the items below

1. Guranteed a slot for the next event regardless if the the max is reached.
2 Get to sign up a week before everyone does.
3. Have the registration fee waved for them.
4. All of the above

Just a thought :)

OK for all those with questions. The max number we can really handle is 100 but we set registration for 120 assuming no shows so there is no wait list. Which also answers Tuan's first question. IM does not let you in after they hit capacity regardless of whether or not you are a volunteer....only if you are a celebrity.

I can leave number two up to Hugh and number three is true we just forgot to make mention of it this time. If you have volunteered for a club training tri, du, time trial or swim meet (and only those) just shoot Hugh an email to sign up.

I was hoping that I did not have to reply to any posts today. About allowing volunteers to sign up early, I'm not too sure how to work that on the site. What the Race Director should do (oh, that's me), is e-mail all volunteers right before registration opens up so they have a heads up when the entry window opens.

Did the training tri already fill up? I would love to do it, as I have my first race of the season the following week!

How do I volunteer for this event? On the website, I went to "volunteer", then tried to click on this event (with "Volunteers Needed" next to it). Nothing was clickable.

Jenny, just send an email to racedirector@dctriclub.org and let them know you want to volunteer.

I second what Tania said. Please e-mail me about volunteering. I would love the help. Plus, there is a pair of Nats tickets up for raffle.
