Feedback/insight to Kestrel road bike
POSTED: 10/14/09 9:47 PM

I am still learning about road bikes, and came across this one online: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/kestrel/talon_sramred_road.htm
Does anyone know anything about them and have some insight they could share? The price seems really reasonable for carbon fiber, which makes me wonder what is wrong with it.

I road a talon frame with road set up few years ago, and currently ride a talon frame with a tri setup. I like it.

I think its a great value if the frame fits you.

The Talon's an older design, so you're not buying the latest and greatest in frame technology. That said, it's a proven frame, and can go road or tri depending on what handlebars/shifters/brake levers you use. For that component mix, it's a great price.
