I need to get new orthotics for my running shoes- Does anyone have a good podiatrist in or around DC to recommend?
Steve Prubit is the famed podiatrist of all things DC. I did not have such great luck with him however and found a guy in Detroit - yes Detriot - that makes exceptional orthotics out of EVA - stuff running shoes are made of. see details below -

I don't wear orthotics but ...
The orthopedic practice that handled my ankle and my shoulder does them and the practice is really top notch.
And for what it's worth she's a triathlete who's done an Ironman.
My friend who does wear orthotics went to Dr. Gilmore and has been happy with the result.
I'm not sure how he is with orthotics, but I've been to Dr. Osterman for other foot ailments. He was referred on this site years ago by another tri club member and I like him.

I see another doctor in Dr. Osterman's practice at 1720 I street NW. Her name is Carron Grant.
I did get orthotics made with this practice and have been happy with them. I actually took them in last week to get refurbished since the soft footbed (not the actual orthotic) was starting to break down. Dr. Grant had them ready for me to pick up in 24 hours which was fantastic.
I use Dr Petko in Annandale VA, He is a Marathoner uses the handle - Soledoctor, Soldoctor.com, 705.533.1900.
