With Savageman just over a little month a way I am looking to see how many DC Tri Members are actually doing this race. I found a few folks going to do it during the training weekend but hope to see more out there. I am also looking to coordinate a few campsites for the race weekend. I am in for the half.
I'm also in for the half. I was out of town during the training weekend and couldn't attend.
I'm in for the pure, unadulterated savagery that is the 70.0.
I would've considered the 100.0 if the Half had been on Saturday and the Oly on Sunday, but not going to attempt it with the Oly first.
(Also still contemplating hotel/house rooming ideas.)
I am in for the Oly but am going to sleep in a bed the night before. Not sure where yet though.
Racing the Half, campsite 79 on Saturday night.
I didn't get enough torture last year. I'm in.
I am giving it a whirl -- just the olympic though!
I am Savage enough. But not enough to do the Olympic the day before. Extra beer for the people savage enough for both. -- jimmy
I am also planning on the Oly this time. Not sure where i am staying but will figure out logistics.
Great to see a good amount of members participating this year. I will be at campsite 107 Saturday night. I have room for 3-4 People with walking distance to the transition area and only 150 ft to the restroom and shower facilities. By the way there are still plenty of camping spots left that weekend in case others are going with the camping option.
Swimming in a relay for the OLY (hold your laughter until I'm gone).
I'm thinking house not camping since I'm high maintenance and campsites don't have Wii.
I'm in for the half.
Here's all the folks who marked affiliation with DC Tri during registration. 39 folks so far - pretty awesome!
Also, the number of volunteers is part of the Club Challenge and DC Tri has zero volunteers to date. So, if you're racing one day and willing to volunteer the other, or if you have friends/family willing to help out in some capacity for the weekend, please go to:
http://www.savagemantri.org/volunteers.html and be sure to mark your affiliation with DC Tri. Registered participants who also volunteer get their Fundraising award levels reduced by $25 (lower level) and $50 (upper level).
Can I grab 2 of the spots for campsite 107?
Do I owe money, beer, powergel?
I'll be doing the big race... I did the bike course 2 weeks ago and started a little late... it ended up taking from 4:30 to 11:30pm after a few wrong turns and playing dodge the truck at night. Somehow I think the race may be a little easier, atleast I hope it will :)
Signed up for the oly one and if there is a spot left at 107 please let me know. Thanks
Kirstin you can have the additional 2 remaining spots. You need to bring your own tent, water and camp food will be good enough. As for trigator I am at capacity but there are plenty of spots left at the campsite and I am sure other club members will be camping as well. Price is very reasonable at only $25 a campsite.
Pete, i appreciate it, i will keep looking. Thanks
Awesome! See you there.
I have room at my campsite (#79) on Saturday night if someone is interrested in splitting the site and the $26 fee with me and my dog. Just email me at michael.a.coffman at gmail.com. It's a short walk from the transition area and showers.
It's hard to believe Savageman is only less than a week away. Hopefully the forecast will hold up for the weekend. Right now Deep Creek is showing lows in the low 50's and highs in the 60's with sunny conditions over the weekend, cannot roll out fog though. Look forward to seeing everyone out there that's doing Savageman from the Club.
