Hello DC Tri,
The Board of Directors met for it's fifth meeting of the year on 5/21/2012. To view the agenda and approved meeting minutes, please click here>>
The next meeting is scheduled for 6/11/12.
During the May 2012 meeting, the Board reviewed, discussed and approved a plan to enhance the club's website. Over the next 6 to 12 months the Board will be making significant financial investments to advance the functionality of the site. In the coming weeks you will be able to view a page on the site that shares an enhancement roadmap as well as keep you up-to-date on the progress we are making. Stay tuned for more to come...
During the May 2012 meeting, the Board also welcomed two guests - Molly Quinn of Competitor Group, Inc (CGI) and former club president, Travis Siehndel. With Molly, the Board discussed a blueprint moving forward with CGI which includes our continued support and involvement at the Nations Triathlon as well as other opportunities to broaden a relationship with CGI. Travis presented a proposal for a 2012 DC Tri Club Gala to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Over the coming weeks this proposal will be vetted in greater detail and approved by the Board.
As always we'll continue to use this Forum as a means to provide updates on the work we do, the accomplishments our club is making, and the opportunity to voice your ideas, concerns, etc with the direction we are taking the club.
Thank you and happy training & racing!
President, DC Tri Club
Making the web site better has long been a priority, yes.
I've heard Molly Quinn is a good organizer, sounds good.
Will Travis bring his US Navy big band to play at the gala?..
I think the website needs a Social Section, much like the current Race Section. This would be a place where we can post the club's social events, including happy hours, big events (like the Achieve Kids Triathlon fundraiser and the annual meeting), and random events (like the Clarendon Crit watching). People will be able to list whether they're attending. That will further increase attendance at events, and allow us to give hosts a better idea of how much space we need to reserve.
