Great opportunity to get your open water swim practice in and contribute to some great causes. There is still time to register for the 19th Annual Maryland Swim for Life, held July 10th at Rolph's Wharf on Maryland's eastern shore. This popular open water swimming event gives athletes the option of swimming 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 miles in an out and back course along the shoreline of the Chester River. The event is sanctioned by USMS and welcomes swimmers of all abilities to step up to the challenge. Each swimmer must raise a minimum of $100. Profits raised from the swim support small non-profit organizatons in the DC area that work with individuals and familes affected by HIV/AIDS, and the Chester River Association which advocates for a clean and healthy river (that we can swim in!)

I'm in! Last year the DC Tri Wombats were one of the top fundraising teams and we hope to do it again.
This is a great swim for beginners - low key, the current isn't too strong, fewer swimmers=less washing machine/swimmer contact, and post-swim food is abundant and good!
I'll probably do the 4 mile swim without a wetsuit.
Thanks for the reminder!
I'm in to do some distance
Hoping there to do longest-distance yet in open water. Nice flexibility: 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 mile options.
In for a couple of miles.
FYI, there's a club training tri scheduled for July 11, not that one event should affect participation in the other.
In for two miles.
I'm feeling serious peer pressure to do this swim. All the cool kids are doing it.
