Does anyone have any thoughts on good early season (April/May) Olympic triathlons?
I was looking at the St. Anthony's triathlon in St. Petersburg, FL.
But it would be much appreciated if people had other suggestions for fun races in warmer climates.
A few that I know of:
1) Columbia Triathlon in mid May (local)
2) Maritime Triathlon in mid May (local)
3) Belews Lake in mid April (in NC)
4) White Lake Spring in early May (in NC)
4) Over the Mountain in mid May (in NC)
Although it's not in a warmer climate (could be quite chilly), the Monticelloman in Charlottesville, VA is on May 4th.
PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN! PEASANTMAN!
May 4th, Lake Anna, Va ... 300+ DCTri club members and volunteers will be in attendance. Free Georgetown Cupcakes at the finish line. The RD of that race is God's gift to humanity.
My God, people! .... I didn't think that I would need to start the propaganda machine until 2014 :)
Totally endorse Columbia and Monticelloman... and of course Peasantman!
Peasantman for sure!
If the weather temps cooperate and there's an appetite for it, we could potentially put on the first 2014 training tri at Gunston Cove on Saturday, April 19th.
We will definitely have a training tri a month later, May 17th so put that one on your calendar now.
Kinetic at Lake Anna (1/2 and Sprint distances) through VTS - week after Peasantman - week before Columbia.
