We have at least 153 DCTri folks who will be at PeasantMan this year. This includes 89 NTPers. In honor of this, we will have a joint NTP/PeasantMan happy hour this Thursday, May 2nd at McFadden's (www.mcfaddensdc.com/) from 6:30 - 9:00 PM.
The happy hour will also include many regular DCTri members since they are also doing PeasantMan. Outside of the Kona viewing, I don't believe that there is a DCTri happy hour event that will attract more DCTri folks. I want to invite everyone, including folks who are not doing PeasantMan this year to come out for a little socializing with current and new members to the club.
Why are so many people coming? ... because the happy hour is also the PeasantMan packet pickup location. Yep, we do it at a place that serves alchohol. That's how we roll at PeasantMan. We have the downstairs reserved. Just come and enjoy the evening.
We will also be holding a raffle to raise money for charity. The ticket is cheap. $5 per ticket or $10 for 3. You can purchase it at the door or at the below URL.
Online raffle ticket purchase can be done at:
Below are some of the prizes in our raffle. Our list of participants is so small that you are bound to win something if you purchase a raffle ticket. We have more prizes than what is listed below, but it's 3:00 AM in Saigon right now. Those little 8 year old child laborers on our staff just went off their shift.
3 bike tune ups
Two Rudy Project Wingspan helmets (valued at $620)
9 Road ID gift certificates
Gift certificate for a $240 Xterra wetsuit
A DCTri Masters Swim package
... and more to come.
The HH/raffle will take up most of the downstairs bar.
The pub is easily accessible by bike (or run) from downtown, and from the Foggy Bottom metro just blocks away.
WaveOne is donating a bunch of National Harbor summer open water swims.
Author Ed Moser is donating two of his books.
We have a bunch more prizes to give out, so get a raffle ticket and win some that will make you faster.
Does one have to be present to claim their prize if one purchases raffle tickets ahead of time?
No <<--- That's what she said
To claim the prize, you'll either need to be at Lake Anna this weekend or attend one of the future DCTri Happy Hour.
If I win a prize, can I pick it up at a future swim at Sandy Point?
For $5, you can own one of these. We are giving both of these away along with a boatload of other stuff.
Cool. Are the helmets given away too?
Yep, both of them
Expecting to have 200 folks at the Happy Hour.
