I'm going to start doing track workouts at W&L on Friday mornings. In order to be at my desk at 8:30, I have to leave my house no later than 8, and I can't seem to get my morning routine under 45 minutes... all this is to say: Start time is gonna be early. Like, 6:15 most of the time and 6:00 if we're doing longer workouts.
I'm not a running coach. Hell, I *need* a running coach. In lieu of that, I'm going to simply present a workout that I'm stealing from someone else, and each of us will pretty much do our own thing, but, together. In a friendly way.
So, let me know who is in. See you Friday morning!
You may want to check because I think the track doesn't open until 7am. But I know if that is enforced.

Actually... I can see the track from my apartment window, and I promise you there are people there even before 6 AM. :)
There is a solid chance I'll join you out there. However I am also not a run coach. I had been doing Wednesday nights at the W&L track with a Pacers group.
I'm a maybe for tomorrow am. I've been wanting to do a track workout but haven't gotten to any of the regular evening workouts in a while. I feel like usually you wouldn't want to do a track workout the day before a long ride, but since our "long" rides are getting shorter with the end of the season, it shouldn't matter anymore, right?
Abby, will you post a workout or just bring one?
I'm amenable to switching to Wednesdays in the future...

Workout tomorrow will be:
Warmup 2-3 laps
4X400 with 1 lap cool down between
1 mile at 5k pace
4X400 with 1 lap cool down between
Cool down 2-3 laps
See you at 6:15! Bring water and a towel. I will be wearing DC Tri gear.
I'll be there! Capital Area Runners does a tempo run at 6:30 every Friday morning at W&L. We usually get there at 6:15 to warm up. There are a couple other groups that show up too. A boot camp and I think a Pacers group. Wilson Komen from gtown running co sometimes comes and puts everyone to shame.
Abby - don't think I'll make it on Fridays, but if you do Wednesdays I'm game and may even turn it into an aquathon with a short swim (probably before)!

I was thinking Wednesday as an alternative... I usually swim on Wednesday morning, but I could totally Aquathon! Let's discuss next week.

I'm game mid-week. I've been doing track workouts Tuesday evenings but the game schedules are a (expletive deleted) moving target so I end up being kicked out of the track all the time. But now that I know we can run on the track before 7am I'm in. And early is good.
I'd be up for next Wed.
I got a text this am from Arlington Co that eastbound 50 was closed due to an accident investigation, so I ditched the plan to head over to W&L before work to avoid getting caught up in that mess.
Haha, Justin! Indeed, being able to chat and run means we were legitimately cooling down! It was great to see you, too! My lungs haven't yet recovered from sprinting, but this is exactly what I was hoping for.
Karen, ugh about traffic today but awesome about next week. What do people think about Wednesdays? I could be convinced to swim Monday and Friday and workout at the track on Wednesdays. Or we could try an aquathon. I would put myself in the pool at 5:30-6:15 and then run at the track from 6:30-7:15...
And now I sound a little wackjob...
We're on for Wednesday at 6:00 AM at W&L. I'm swimming on Fridays now.

Barring any unfortunate traffic scenarios, I'm in for tomorrow am. There's a good chance I'll be more like 0615, as I try to figure out how long it takes to get there at that time of day (hopefully not long) and what parking is like at that hour. If you guys are already running, I'll just do the workout you posted last week!
