It can't hurt to ask the Parks Dept to open the 50-meter outdoor HP pool a week or so early. I think it's slated for the usual Mem Day weekend opening. They've opened it early before, and have kept it open into the fall as well, partly due to the request of swimmers. The weather's certainly good now for swimming outdoors.

Speaking of, does anyone know which masters program (if any?) swims at Hains Point in the early weekday mornings? I'd love to get in on that action but from my googling, all I could find is that DC Masters used to, but their site hasn't been updated since 2010. http://www.dcmasters.org/
Got this back from DPR:
Thank you for contacting D.C Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). We have received your correspondence regarding your interest in outdoor pools. All outdoor pools are scheduled to open officially Saturday May 24th, 2014, for weekends only until the D.C Public School (DCPS) has ended for the summer.

Looking at the DPR website the pools are free to DC Residents and to those with a Military ID.. that is great.. just in case no one knew.
just sent a request to DC DPR
Not sure how up to date this list is, but it shows a few masters practice times at HP.
The weekday swims, according to the Parks Dept website, don't start until Monday, June 23.
I am interested a group swim, does anyone know when DC tri members will start meeting for a group swim at Hains Pt?
