If I'm staying in Oxford on Saturday night (about 16 miles north), what time should I head to Cambridge in the morning (transition closes at 6:45)? I suspect traffic will be bad. Also, is it easy enough to park in the neighborhood around Great Marsh Park? I'd like to avoid the dreaded shuttle bus. thanks!

many streets around the park will be closed to parking (because they're on the course - you wouldn't want to park there anyway bc you'd have trouble moving your car). That said, there is street parking to be found. There are maps on the website to show you which streets are open/closed.

I'd plan to be there when transition is opening to secure a spot.

Park at the middle school, there is plenty of parking there. Try to get there by 5:15, take the shuttle to the race, and check your bike. That's what I did last year.
