In. I'm staying in Cambridge (MD, not UK or MA).

Got in at Holiday Inn after signing onto a waiting list there.

Off for a loop at Hains to train, and to the Hains pool also to train in case there's a lot of rain at the sea-level Seagull course this year. :)

Yes, a ton of DC tri people have done this century before. It is a fun weekend. If you are interested, I'd look for a hotel room asap.

Here's an article on Sea Gull Century and a few nearby rides:

Andrea,

It depends on your threshold for crazy and what time you wanted to clip in. I decided getting up at 400 am to pack up, pick up Erica and drive out so we could clip in at 7ish crossed that threshold, so I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge. Now we can get up at 6 something and roll over to Salisbury.

Depending on where you live, Cambridge is around 1:45 to 2:00 away...Salisbury is another half hour or so past Cambridge.

I'm in. I think I got more sleep 2 years ago when I drove there the morning of than I did last year, having stayed at the Best Value Inn in Cambridge. The place was pretty terrible. Our non-smoking room was sandwiched between two rooms where people were smoking all through the night. I woke up itching from the sheets and the cold, dirty tile floor in the room made for a less than desirable stay. I was leaning toward driving up the day of again.

Great. I am leaning towards day trip but booked room as back-up at Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge (no penalty for cancellation). They only had 3 rooms left when I called yesterday evening. Andrea

I'm also leaning towards it. Does anyone in the Bethesda area want to carpool the morning of?

I need some TLC away from running so I'm in. Rooms are booked up. I'll keep trying as we get closer otherwise just gonna drive. Are you guys doing the century or the metric? Simon
