Just looked on the website.
Eagleman Triathlon Registration begins: August 4th @ 9am

Columbia Man Triathlon Registraion begins: September 8th @ 9am.

I just got that off the website for those that want to enter a couple of awesome races.

thanks - I already marked my calendar for each... if you're thinking about EM, you might want to book a room ASAP (if you haven't already).

I did a forum post a few weeks back when HI Express opened rooms and the ones in Columbia were already gone (on the first day) and I got one in Easton.

Oh Hugh, you were talked into CDA before you even showed up to happy hour. Don't blame it on the beer!

somethign you guys should know, this RD even though he is a nice guy, if you don't ask for a refund by the refund deadline or get injured after that date, they tell you what you can do with yourself if you ask for your entry fee, and its not "you can get some of your entry fee back".

they are a very cold hearted organization once it gets past the refund deadline, no exceptions, at all.

something to remember.

Becky thanks for the heads up. Can't believe it's this early but got one of the Cambridge, MD Holiday Inn Express rooms reserved. Just in case...

Simon - no fair, you got a room in Cambridge! When I tried it said "no availability." After reading your post, I got the same... and, unfortunately folks, I also saw "no availability" for the HI Express in Easton...so I'm really glad I'm a type A+++ and booked a room as soon as they opened up to be safe.
I don't know what else is around there. I believe there are others in that area. If you haven't been, Easton is only about a 15 minute drive, so if you can't find anything in Cambridge, landing a room in Easton is pretty darn good! Good luck!

Do I have something wrong? Cause I keep coming up with plenty of rooms:

Did you enter the right date? For Saturday, June 12, 2010 the rooms are completely sold out at the Holiday Inns in Cambridge and Easton (and other chain hotels). The weblink you provided expired, but, if you have a secret trick to finding a room, i'm all ears!

Well this is not good. If I don't find a place to stay, then this is going to suck... MAJORLY!!!

Ah sry. Try
http://www.hiexpress.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hotel/cgemd?&cm_mmc=mdpr-_-googlemaps-_-ex-_-cgemd&dp=true
I put check in date 6/11/2010 and check out date 6/13/2010, 2 adults, and plenty of rooms pop up. If I try 6/12/2010 check in, no rooms are available. Perhaps it's a 2 night stay min.

Have stayed in Salisbury for 2 of the last 3 years. It is a quick drive early in the morning and the rooms are a lot cheaper and readily available; usually I book in May.

Ok. I got a room with 2 beds in Cambridge Holiday Inn Express for Eagleman. So I will be able to take on a room mate for the race. Now I just have to get in the race.

Did anybody get a room for one night (the 12th)? I made a reservation for the 11th and 12th at the Holiday Inn Express since they have a 2-night minimum, just to have a safe backup option...but I would really prefer to stay just the one night. Wondering if a smaller, non-chain place might have availability for just one night?

thanks, Simon - I didn't realize the 2nd night was the key - I was just shopping for Saturday night (which is what I got in Easton).
We stayed at a HI Express in Salsbury (I think) last year... it seemed like a zillion miles away, but on Sunday morning at 4:15, shockingly enough, it was a easy drive (about 40 minutes).
I don't know what else is in Easton, but that's a super easy 15 minute drive.
I booked 3 rooms with double beds (holding for friends) - and if I find out they don't register and I have extra rooms on my hands, I will put out a post and let the first to respond have them.
