$400 worth of bike gear for $200

Hi all,

Not sure how many of you are familiar with groupon. Essentially every day there is a "deal" that offers steep discounts. The catch is you have to order that deal that day.

Today's deal is $400 worth of bike gear for $200 (can be used towards a bike purchase or accessories, but no apparel) at Bike Stations (2204 14th St. NW Washington, DC 20009).

You can also get a discounted bike tune up.

Disclaimer: I've never been to this bike shop and know nothing about it, but I thought the offer was too good not to pass along.

Oh yeah, you might need that little bit of info:

I have done several groupon coupons in the past. Once you sign up they will email you once a day with the current deal (but they don't send any other spam), and you might find some other great deals (discounted meals, house cleanings, etc).

I've heard of people using Groupon before, but haven't myself. Sounds like a good deal, though I'd like to check out the store before I woudl buy it. Ever been to the store it's for?

Thanks for posting the deal, btw.

There's also a site called BonkTown.com, which is basically an online QVC-type outlet for road cyclists and triathletes. They offer one discounted item at a time, usually for 30 min. There are limited quantities and limited sizes of that single product.

All of the products are related to road cycling or triathlon. I only heard about it recently. It seems to have more of a focus on road bikes but I've seen speedsuits and swim skins on the site too.
