Hains Pt. Crackdown
POSTED: 10/15/13 11:44 PM

This evening at Hains there seemed to be more barriers to riding, and longer strips of "stay out" tape at the entrances and exits. And several cyclists reported the police were threatening to hand out $500 fines for those riding around the point. Spotted some cyclists still doing that tho, even as some police cars were patrolling around the point.

I have a lot of connections ans sway within the Park Service. Next time anyone gets stop, just name drop my name. Tell them you're friends with the Vertical Swimmer.

Sounds like it'd be prudent to steer clear of HP. Or at least wear something other than a club kit when doing so? HA!

No need to ride HP.... the Montgomery County roads out to Poolesville are all open! And few cars during a mid-day ride. :)
