@Brady: A birthday party for a friend tonight makes 6:30 a taaad early for me. I will be at the bank in gtown at 7:30 ready to roll.
Going to try to make the 6:30 georgetown pickup, only so that I can get home and go back to sleep earlier. I'm in for an easy ride out to the T, then maybe picking up the pace a bit on the way back into town.
If any of you have been following the Tu/Th Hains Point workouts, this will come as no surprise to you...prep for next weekend.
I'm looking for a 2-2.5 hour ride with a 40 minute (z4/5) interval worked in.
I'll be at 8th and Penn at 7 to meet the 7:30 crew in Georgetown and like last week, will pick up the pace after the reservoir on that slight downhill for 40 mins.
Last week, it took a little less than 25mins to get to the BP station past Great Falls, so I'm going to plan to do that again and then either immediately turn around and hammer back in the same direction for the final 15 mins or continue out to the T--whatever the will is of the group, if anyone's interested in this.
As usual, if anyone's interested in some high threshold pace work, I'd love the company. I'm happy to pull a lot.
Lots of big mileage put up today. Nice work everyone and thanks for keeping me company. Especially AJ and Bryan for sticking it out with me!
What's the deal this Saturday? Everyone planning on the usual route or is anyone driving out west for some punishment in the hills?
I know a bunch of the group is doing the DC Tri Sunday and won't be riding. I'm not, so I'm planning to ride the usual route just out to Falls Rd, then do a few hill repeats on backside into the park and head straight back MacArthur (since the US Open debacle over on the Oaklyn route) and push the tempo to Z4 for the last 30 mins.
Rolling out from G'twon @ 7:30 AM and it looks like the T-Storms are going to hold out for Sat PM, so hope to see a bunch of those not racing this weekend out there!
Oh and I've got my tire situation figured out, so I won't be double flatting again this week!
Brady, I will head out with you towards Falls road but will probably keep going out to the T. I want to get in ~50 this Saturday. Do you think the US Open will make River road a mess out past Potomac?
I'm probably game for going at 7:10 from the Hill (catching you all in G-town at 7:30) but also looking to go to the T. We can do hill repeats of Mass Ave on the way back if anyone is interested.
Looks like you guys have twisted my (bad) arm - to the T it is!
@wes - I'm guessing Falls might be a little more congested than normal, but can't imagine too bad since the top guys don't tee off until the PM.
One last sales pitch... Does anyone want to go ride the Blue Ridge Challenge or Skyline? If not, I'm ok with staying local I suppose...
If anyone wants to go early, I'm going from the hill to Sugarloaf leaving the hill at 6:10. I'm trying to get a one stop steady state ride at ~21ish mph avg.
Lemme know if you want in and where to look for you.
Gonna take the extra hour of sleep, sorry Phil, and join you guys in G'town at 730.
Anyone not doing T200 riding tomorrow?
I'm in for a ride out to the T, maybe a bit farther. What time will folks be heading out from Gtown?
I'm a new member and new to the area. I plan on jumping in at Georgetown at 7:30. I hope I can keep up with you guys!
I'm cycling to Sugarloaf from Silver Spring with at least one other rider... will be rolling through Georgetown in the 6:30 - 7:30 am time zone depending on if anyone else is interested in heading out to the 'loaf.
I'm looking to do a short loop to the BP and back, moderate pace. Anyone interested?
Could be interested in 'The Loaf' ride - would join up Wisconsin/M... Let me know what time...
It's looking like a 6:45 am roll through Georgetown. Two others coming down from Silver Spring with me. This will be a 18 - 20 mph ride with limited stops... probably only at Dickerson... and no return to Georgetown by 3 SS cyclists... we'll peel off at Persimmon Tree on the way back.
