Running the 5k turkey trot starting from Freedom Plaza:
http://www.some.org/events_trot_main.html
Registration ends today.
5k will only burn about 300 calories. I'm going to need a much larger calorie deficit to start the day.
hmmm how many calories could I burn doing an easy bikeshare ride around the monuments? that will probably be just about all my legs will be able to handle by Thursday :(
According to the powertap, Great Falls round trip from the bank (plus a few miles) was about 1200 calories last time I did it. Not too shabby.
I'll try to make it, but depends on the weather and what my family is looking to do in the morning. So I may not come, but may go to the T or further to get some extra pumpkin pie calories taken care of.
Thur: 5 mile race will burn more than 3.1 http://www.alexandriaturkeytrot.com/
Eat. Watch football. Be thankful.
Sat: Ride
Sunday: MTB ride followed by a trail run at Great Falls?
Forecast looks good for the morning... will be nice to see the sun again.
See you out there.

I didn't get any definitive answers on the ride tomorrow and sleeping in sounds much better than riding alone. Have a great Thanksgiving and lets look at getting a ride in on Saturday.

Anybody planning on riding tomorrow?
I'll be waiting at the bank in G-town at 0830... open to all distances/speeds... Just want to enjoy this awesome weekend.

Yep. Will roll out from 8th and Penn SE at 8:10, headed for the 8:30 pick up at Georgetown. Would be in for a brisk great falls ride or a tamer ride to the T.
Cool, see you guys at 8:30 in G'town.
Hey Guys, for those that want/can take advantage of the relatively light traffic around here, small group of us are gonna hit the burbs of Calvert County, ~35 min drive.
Plan is to clip in at the Bryan's Rd Shopping center Burger King about 945am.

I'll be out there for the MD ride with Adam and Co. Looks like some pretty riding.
Here's the garmin course file (.crs) for the route:

I'm close to MD so I'll likely meet you folks out there. That's a nice course.
The Burger King address, btw, is:
3165 Marshall Hall Road, Bryans Road, MD, 20616.
Good ride today... We've had a great turnout so far despite the cold temps.
I think it was Patrick at the front but I appreciated the fact that the front of the pack allowed everyone a chance to grab on to the train before hitting it hard today once we got down the hill past the reservoir. Not sure if it was conscious or unconscious but it definitely made it easier and a bit safer/less twitchy at the back with a few seconds extra to form up.
See you all next week.
The Calvert Cty/Indian Head ride was also sweet. Country and park roads, little traffic, rolling hills. Check it out if you haven't been down there.
Anyone planning on riding this weekend? Was thinking of heading out to the T.
In. Plasnning on a pit stop at Potomac Starbucks.
Usual start time.
In. Will be at G'town at 8:30
