I may join the B group in the morning if I can pull myself out of bed! Been a long work week!

Awesome group out there today. It was good to be back out there.

Here's the route from today: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/228045197

If you want some extra hills, we turned on Mohican off of MacArthur to work in some extra climbing. Don't worry, if you take this route you still get to climb most of Mass. Ave. as well.

Blame Eric.

Dan and those that got separated heading out to the T. We held up but didn't see you coming down the hill for a while so didn't realize you coming until we saw you on the way back. Eric is probably to blame here, too.

Yeah I fell asleep at the BP.... by the time I realized you all were heading out, I was mid-granola bar with no gloves or glasses on... no way I was gonna catch you guys so I hooked on with Jay and David for while and we headed back via Tuckerman.... all in all a good day with great company... (Eric being the possible exception)...

til next week,
dan

It's good to feel all the love. This week is the club time trial on Sat so I may do that and then an abbreviated hill ride on MacArthur. More details to come.

Is anyone riding Saturday morning but NOT doing the time trial beforehand? Planning to leave the Hill at 7:40, so Georgetown 8:00 as usual.

That's my plan too -- hopefully do the Poolesville loop or stretch it even a little further than that?

I'm out of town this week. Too bad because it looks like an awesome weekend for cycling.

Yeah I wish I could join this week but I... oh, who am I kidding... I'm skipping for my church's mens group, and don't plan on training rides of any distance for at least another week. I love the Ironman recovery period.

Hey Steph -- I'm thinking of heading out as well. Will add on a bit from last week.

Where are folks heading tomorrow? What sort of pace? I am looking to do about 80 maybe to Poolesville at 18-19mph.

Those of us training for IM cozumel, arizona, or florida should be up for 80-90ish. I have my sights on the usual MacArther, Seneca, then Berrysville, Poolsville, & River two loops. Starting at usual M street 0730?

I'm riding, but probably only to the BP and back.

I'm assuming that we are sticking with the 'new' Fall start time of 8 am -- folks head out of Cap Hill at 7:40; corner of Wisconsin and M at 8 -- see you then

Sorry we lost you out there Kevin and Dan. I thought you were right behind Kip when we turned on Goldsboro. We waited through a couple lights at River and figured there was no way that we would ever find you so continued on. Hopefully you guys still aren't your there!

No worries Zack! I just got home and was about to post so that you guys knew all was well.

I actually went over some debris and got a flat. If you can believe it, this was my third flat in a week and so literally last night I used up my last spare tube. I yelled out but you guys were a bit too far ahead. Thankfully Bethesda was just a few miles away, so I walked to Freshbikes and got it changed there.

And as a complete side note, I've been disappointed with most bike shop service departments lately (which will remain nameless), but I really liked the guy I worked with today (Chris) at Freshbikes Bethesda and I'll definitely head back there again.

Anyway, that's my story, not sure about Dan though!

Oh man.....I felt bad before now I feel awful!

Glad you got back okay. Do you ride with a patch kit? Super easy to use if not.

I don't ride with a patch kit, partially because I've never had any luck getting my patches to hold, but mostly because I always have a spare tube on me (well, except for today).

For what it's worth, I was told that you need to wait 30 minutes for the patch to set. Maybe that's the missing piece in my patching technique.

Ah! So, at Goldsboro I turned with you guys (Kip and Zach) but then didn't want to leave Kevin behind so i waited a few minutes (by this time figured that Kip and Zach were long gone) so I turned back and gave it a 'good faith effort' to try to find Kevin (went back about a 1/2 mile but apparently not far enough)... then figured Kevin that you just went another way... no worries, I made it back OK and enjoyed the ride the whole way -- thanks guys -- see you out there again soon
Dan
