So will the ride stop in the bank parking lot after picking up the boat house folks?
Yea, ride will roll thru the bank parking lot after picking up those that park and drop off their food for the brick-nic, bags, change of clothes, etc at the boathouse.
Anyone planning on rolling from the hill?
Great thanks!! I assume 80 miles isn't out of the question...some folks will be going out for a longer ride?
A little confused. What time will the ride pickup be at the bank parking lot this saturday (brick-nic)? Thanks.
There are two of us going to do the white's ferry route: 80 miles, We are B riders if anyone wants to join. I missed the group that went two weeks ago so I am going to try one this week.
Ride will leave Key Bridge Boathouse at 730 so will roll thru G'town bank parking lot nlt 735.
Anyone planning on rolling early? I'm thinking of rolling around 6:30 and heading out for 60-ish miles + a decent brick run and still make it back in time for some food and fun.
I'm planning on riding from Capitol Hill with the 7:10 departure to meet up with the Boathouse and Bank riders.
I'm going to hijack this thread briefly. I'm still involved with some volunteer recruitment for Nation's Tri. There was a meeting last night and many spots are looking very good but we have a couple of holes that we are looking to fill.
The reason I chose this list is because we need a strong/loud personality who is able to work the swim dock. In the past we've used Simon and Ron but they are unavailable this year and we're hoping to fill that gap. I think Abby will be working the dock this year but we need one or two more people to help out as well. If you are interested, email me or message me through the forum. It's a fun gig.
Also, we are still looking for people to help work the expo. If you are racing and have a little time, please consider volunteering for a couple of hours while you're there. Then you can also grab your own packet as you're working. If you can't work an entire shift, that's fine, any time you have will be appreciated. Just note your availability on the sign up for here: http://volunteer.competitor.com/signup.php?event_id=398
In a separate meeting, we also spent a lot of time looking at the bike route plan. I still feel confident that the change won't be as painful as some may think. There have been some very minor tweaks to what I had seen previously that are beneficial to the racer and safety and it's going to be good. If you have questions, feel free to contact me offline so we don't clog up this thread too much.
Finally, I plan to be out this Saturday and looking forward to seeing everyone.
I had a couple of quick replies from Chris and John to help on the swim dock so we should be covered there. Thanks!
If you were thinking of volunteering and just hadn't signed up yet, there is definitely still time. Just use the link: http://volunteer.competitor.com/signup.php?event_id=398 and choose the spot that works for you. It is helpful if you do it by the end of the week because next week much of our effort is shifted towards race weekend execution.
I'm done hijacking the thread now!
Who's doing this week's ride? Looking for long ride with hills pre-Civil War Century. Sugarloaf Mt or White's Ferry maybe (or Mt Weather or Blue Ridge even). (And Tri360 has a raffle ride & bbq, hmm...)
Bethany and I will be out for about 50ish.
Still 7:30 clip in from Gtown? We aren't on fall hours yet, are we?
Still summer hours but don't tempt me... I'd gladly push it back 3 hours ;-)
So who do we have "in" for tomorrow's Saturday ride?
I'm "in" like Flynn but wondering -- is MacArthur still torn up?
Sean W. talked me into rolling out at 8:10. It wasn't difficult to twist my arm.
MacArthur was still torn up on Wednesday afternoon and didn't appear that any action was happening soon.
8:10 sounds FUN!!!! how long you folks riding for?
I'm in for ride tomorrow.
Distance - undecided
Pace - casual
8:10 at Georgetown?
I'm guessing Travis meant 8:10 from the hill and 8:30 roll from g'town.
Though if prefer not to get the arm twist and roll earlier, see you all at 8:30.
