Does anyone know if that one-way bridge on MacArthur is closed this weekend? I heard a rumor.

55 degrees and sunny tomorrow morning. I'm planning on ride from Capitol Hill. Are we sticking with the 8:10am meeting on the Hill and 8:30 from G'town?

Anyone planning to ride at Lake Anna this weekend? I know the group is starting at 9, but I'm leaning towards an 8am start for 80 ish miles.

Yeah it was changed to 9am to accommodate those coming down to Lake Anna the morning of the ride.

Anyone meeting in Georgetown to ride? A small B group is planning to head out to Poolesville for about 80 miles. And this question keeps getting asked but I don't think I've seen a response- are we near making the switch to summer start time of 7:30 roll out? Maybe this week? It finally feels like spring!

I was looking to do a rid out of the G-Town area. I am more of a B rider but don't plan on going all the way to poolsville. Probably just to the BP or a little bit further.

I vote for the earlier start as well. Should help with avoiding some of the traffic.

I'm in and am up for a 7:30 rollout from G'town. Not sure 80 is in the game plan, but we'll see...

Juan and I (B team) are planning to ride to Poolsville this Saturday, leaving Gtown at 7:30am. I volunteer for the tail, no-drop, if anyone wants to go who hasn't been out there before. Other than a quick stop at the BP, we will be meeting up at the Cafe 107 in Poolsville for Bagel Sandwich so we are fully fueled for the ride home.
Come join us!

Awesome! Glad everyone's in for the earlier start time and that we have a whole crew going out to Poolesville. Bob, how about a birthday bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich to bribe you to join us to Poolesville?

Hi all - I'm new to Saturday rides (usually ride alone) and am planning on joining B group this week. I'm also not sure if 80 is in the cards, maybe more like 60 if anyone is up for it. Looking forward to it!

Hi everyone, I just joined DC Tri this week and I'd love to go on the ride this Sat. I'm fairly new to riding and my bike is a semi-tested updated classic, so I doubt I'll be making it to Poolesville this time. The earlier turn around sounds great. I'm not slow though, so hopefully won't hold anyone back. Looking forward to meeting you guys at the bank in Gtown.

Hi all,

Just to clarify (and other old timers, please correct me if I'm wrong), when we switch to summer hours, I believe the standard from years past is 8:00 Georgetown (7:40 from the Hill), not 7:30 from Gtown. Some weeks people will organize earlier start times with subgroups who are going their pace/distance in order to accommodate schedules, heat, etc, but the official start time for the club ride on summer hours is 8:00 Georgetown. That strikes a balance between people who like to get out early and people who like to sleep in (I'm talking about you, Drew, ha ha).

Once the ride officially moves to summer hours, someone (usually Travis?) updates the initial post to reflect this.

-Steph

I usually forget from one summer to the next but according to the main Saturday ride details page it is indeed 7:30 from Georgetown. http://www.dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=train.workouts&id=392
